Pixel Art in Google Sheets – Create a Quiz
In this section, we will learn how to make pixel art in Google Sheets and we will see how to make a quiz for pixel art when a student will pass the quiz then the pixel art character will be unlocked for them.
Step 1
Add some simple questions in column A
Step 2
Keep Column B empty for the answers
Add at least 3 and at most 5 questions
Now let’s see how to apply conditional formatting rules to it.
Apply Conditional Formatting to Make a Dynamic Pixel Art in Google Sheets
Finally, now we will learn how to make pixel art in Google Sheets and we will see how to apply conditional formatting on it to make it interactive and dynamic. Let’s see how we can do that.
Step 1
Go to Format > Conditional Formatting
Step 2
In the section “Apply to range”, Select some random cells from the pixel art
Step 3
In Format Rules, select “Custom formula is”
Step 4
Write the custom formula with absolute reference
=$B$2<>16
This formula means that if the value in cell B2 is not equal to 16 then perform the below formatting
Step 5
Go to Formatting Style below, and select the fill color white for it
Click on the done button, and this rule will be saved
Step 6
Now, let’s remove or change the value of the cell on which we have applied the custom formula, and you can see the selected cells from the pixel art are white and the pixel art character is demolished.
Step 7
Now repeat these conditional formatting rules for the remaining answers as well, and for each answer remove approximately 25% of the image.
Step 8
First remove the value on which the conditional formatting is already applied, so that you don’t select a cell twice
Step 9
Add the second rule, and everything will remain the same only the cell reference in the custom formula will change and it will become
=$B$3<>10
Step 10
Now remove both of the cell values B2 and B2, and again go to Format > Conditional formatting
Step 11
Add the third rule with the same steps, just change the formula
=$B$4<>10
Step 12
Now remove cell values from B2, B3, and B4, and again go to Format > Conditional formatting > Add a new rule
Step 13
Select most of the remaining active cells, and now use the custom formula
=$B$5<>18
Step 14
Click Done, remove all the answers, and you can see a demolished image, now add answers to the questions one by one and you will see the vector image is being transformed into its original position with every right answer.
