In this first section, we will learn how to make Jeopardy on Google Slides. We will specifically learn how to get started with the Jeopardy game and to make the board game layout. Firstly, understand the overall game structure. We have a game board layout. Then, we have a theme slide or cover slide for each subject and 4 slides (each for one subject) for the answers/clues, followed by the 4 slides for questions/quizzes. In our tutorial, we will first create the above structure for the English subject block. Let’s understand how to do that.

The first step to making Jeopardy on Google Slides is creating a slide with a matrix or a table-like structure. In this matrix, we need to add two types of information: Subject categories and scores.

There are two possible ways for creating the matrix block. The first method is to use the tables in Google Slides. The other way is to use shapes and create so many square or rectangular shapes to make it look like a table. I will teach you both methods so you can use any of them that works pretty fine for you.

Note that, the matrix dimension can vary. For this example, they are as follows: 5×5 cells. This means that we are going to include five subjects and four questions per subject.

To create a similar dimension table, follow the below steps.

Go to Insert > Table

Step 2

Select the dimension by hovering your mouse on the correct number of boxes horizontally and vertically

Click when you got the perfect dimension, and your table will be added to the slide.

Now, we need to learn how to create similar matrix patterns using shapes. It’s a little more complicated method compared to the previous one. But, it’s also very easy if you practice it.

Go to Insert > Shapes and look for a Rounded rectangle

Click on the Shape button from the toolbar to pick a Rounded rectangle

Draw the shape on your slide just by dragging your mouse.

In this section, we will learn how to create the subject slide for our Jeopardy game. Let’s begin with adding a title and a subtitle.

Step 1

Click on Insert > Textbox

Or Directly click on the Textbox button in the toolbar.

Click and drag to create the box.

Type in your text inside the box, and then change the font family and font size as per your theme

We want to add 4 questions per subject. So we will add 4 buttons using shapes

Remember that in Jeopardy, the hint, clue, or answer slide comes first, and later we have the question drop.

They have 3 (typically) possible answers, and the correct one will redirect the user/player to the next slide.

Step 1

Add a slide and choose a layout you prefer.

In our Slide, the first thing to do is add a title.

Click on Insert > Textbox, draw the textbox and write your text

Now you can change the Font family, Font size, and font as per your theme.

Insert another text box to add a description of the genre.

We will add some shapes and edit them to look like buttons

In this section, we will learn how to make Jeopardy on Google Slides, and we will make the questions slide.

Step 1

Add a new slide and then, click on Insert > Textbox. Then click and drag the mouse to create the box.

Step 2

Type in the text and edit it as needed. In this example, we need to specify that, how many points a player will earn if the answer is correct

After adding some optional illustrations and required icons, our slides are ready! Now, let’s add some links.

Now, this is our last step and here we need to connect the slides and elements such as icons and buttons.

Step 3

Go to the board slide. Click on the subject button “English“, then select the text only and go to the toolbar, click on the Insert link button.

Then pick the required slide from the list, and choose the one that corresponds with the English subject,
