To convert PST to Thunderbird, I am going to use a software tool in the following tutorial. Let’s move to the following part of the article in which we will learn step-by-step how to move emails from Outlook to Thunderbird.
Step 1
To configure Thunderbird, first open Thunderbird from the start menu of Windows. If you have not installed MozillaThunderbird then you can easily download and install MozillaThunderbird from the following link.

When you open MozillaThunderbird for the first time it will ask you to log in to your account to configure MozillaThunderbird. Simply fill up the following fields of Name, Email address, and Password as mentioned below.

After giving all required information just click on the “Confirm” button to configure your MozillaThunderbird for the given account. You can also check the “Remember password” option to save the login password.

When you click on the “Confirm” button, MozillaThunderbird will search for your account. If it detects your account, it will be described below. Now select the account type at which you want to configure MozillaThunderbird as here I am selecting an IMAP account then click on the “Done” button to configure Thunderbird for the selected account.

Within a few seconds, you will get the status that your account has been successfully added. Click on the “Finish” button to go to the home page of Thunderbird.

As you can see in the following screenshot that account has been successfully added to the MozillaThunderbird but we don’t have our emails for this account in Thunderbird. Now let’s move emails from Outlook to Thunderbird.

To move Outlook emails to Thunderbird, we will use the software of PST converter of BitRecover as shown in the following picture. To download the BitRecover PST converter follow the following link and then install it on your computer.
When you launch the PST converter the following window will open in front of you click on the “Next” button.
Note: BitRecover PST converter will not only convert your PST file to Thunderbird but also will import all Outlook data to MozillaThunderbird automatically.
Step 8
When you click on the “Next” button it will ask you to select the following options, either you want to select any PST file or let this application fetch your Outlook data itself. After selecting the action again click on the “Next” button.

As you click on the “Next” button, the PST converter will scan your outlook data and shall display it in front of you as displayed in the following picture.

If you see in the following picture, all folders are unchecked now it’s up to you which other folder you want to convert. If you want to select all folders then simply click on the parent folder otherwise select individually all folders that you want to convert for your Thunderbird. After selecting the folder again click on the “Next” button to move to the next step.

In this step, PST convert wizard will ask you to the format in which you want to convert your PST file as we have to convert PST file to Thunderbird so here I am selecting the Thunderbird file type for conversion as directed below.

When you click on the next button, in the next step it will ask you to select the file location where you want to save your converted file. To select the file path, click on the following highlighted option.

Once you have selected the file location then simply click on the “Next” button as highlighted in the following screenshot.

As we click on the “Next” button a pop-up message will appear in front of us that will tell us that the conversion has been completed as displayed in the following picture. Simply click on the “OK” button to close the window.
In this pop-up message, it is also mentioned that now you can check your converted data in MozillaThunderbird that’s mean that Outlook data has been imported to MozillaThunderbird.
Step 15
After closing the PST converter, come back to the Mozilla Thunderbird, you will see that all your Outlook emails have been imported to Thunderbird as can be seen in the following picture.

In the next step, Outlook will ask you to select the file type in which you want to export your Outlook contacts. So, here we will select the “Comma separated values or CSV” file type to export our Outlook contacts because Mozilla Thunderbird accepts CSV file format for contacts.

After following the few steps, you will reach the following step, click on the “Finish” button, and your file will be exported in CSV format to the desired location.

Now open Mozilla Thunderbird and launch Thunderbird’s address book. When you open Thunderbird’s address book, you will see an “Import” button in front of you as highlighted in the following picture.

When you click on the “Import” button, Mozilla Thunderbird will redirect you to the following window where it will ask you to select the file format in which you want to import contacts. As we have a CSV file of contacts so here, I am selecting “Comma separated values or CSV” file format to import contacts then will click on the “Continue” button as highlighted below.
